British designer Max Lamb has created Planks furniture collection of wooden shelves, tables and benches with concealed storage for UK furniture brand Benchmark. The inspiration comes from traditional English storage chests, box stools and troughs. Tables rest on L-shaped legs, with tops formed from three wide wooden planks placed side-by-side. An inset storage box is concealed in the center of the table, and is accessed by lifting off three shorter pieces of wood. A similar cubby-hole is hidden in the seat of the bench. The collection also includes a bookshelf that rests on two central hole-punched poles which support three shelves and a cabinet towards the bottom with wooden sliding doors.
