Germany-based Henkel has announced the global launch of its new hotmelt packaging adhesives for packaging production. The new Technomelt Supra 1000 has bonding performance and compatibility with a wide range of materials.
According to the company, the hotmelt packaging adhesive, which provides better flowability in automatic filling systems can also be used with a larger range of materials. A completely new production and process technology has been developed and implemented by Henkel to manufacture the new adhesive technology.
Compared with metallocene-based hotmelts, the new base polymer in Technomelt Supra 1000 reduces adhesive usage by up to 20%, while the savings are greater up to 40% by comparison with EVA-based hotmelts.
Technomelt Supra 1000 is crystal-clear and has good visual appeal. It is almost invisible on the package and provides adhesive flow properties, without any stringing or cracking.
Henkel said the product makes machine cleaning easier, since adhesive residues can be easily removed from metal parts. It has good heat resistance, assuring safe transport of packages and helps to improve sustainability performance.
The adhesive can be used to make packaging for tea or chewing gum, as it is resistant to etheric oils, according to the company.
Technomelt Supra 1000 will offer thermal stability and shows good cold flexibility, making it suitable for hot-filled packages as deep-freeze ones. It also helps customers to improve their environmental performance.
