Construction Week reported that Off Site Engineering Solutions LLC, a specialist provider of pre engineered MEP solutions with headquarters in Dubai, has successfully completed a contract for the design, fabrication and delivery of multi service MEP modules to the King Abdullah Petroleum Science and Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The company worked closely with main contractors Drake & Scull International Saudi Arabia, client Saudi Aramco and consultants Arup, using BIM modelling and proprietary technology to design the modules which were prefabricated in a temporary facility on the KAPSARC site in Riyadh, close to the point of use.
The 6 meter modules incorporated insulated HVAC ducting, firefighting, chilled water supply and return pipework, fresh water supply and return, fan coil units, electrical trays and data containment and were installed as complete units, fast tracking the site program for installation of these services.
According to Off Site Engineering Solutions, the feedback on quality, ease of installation and ability to improve site program ranged from good to very good from project and construction managers involved.
